  • The Strongest beer in the world contains almost 70% alcohol. It is called The Snake Venom, brewed by Brewmeister in the UK
  • There´s a beer made of barley that grew in Space. Sapporo´s Space Barley beer is one of the most expensive beers you can buy.
  • In 2010 the oldest drinkable beer in the world was found in a shipwreck that sunk in the early 19th-century shipwreck discovered near Finland.
  • Babylonians punished their beer brewes for a failed batch by drowning them in the batch. Don´t mess with Babylonians!
  • Dock Street Brewing in Philadelphia brews an American Pale Stout with an unusual ingredient. The so called Dock Street Walker is brewed with roasted goat brains. (I´d love to try that)
  • Some beer styles (e.g. Lambic) use spontaneous fermentation. No yeast is added. Basicially the brewes don´t close the fermenters and just wait for wild yeast out of the air to settle and start fermenting. It can take up to months until this happens.

  • The oldest operating brewery in the world is Weihenstephan, a Benedictine Abbey in Bavaria Germany that was established in AD 725.
