  • The German Reinheitsgebot (purity law) got introduced in 1516 by the Duke of Bavaria. This regulation only allowes hops, barley malt and water as the only ingredients to be used for beer and is still followed by most German breweries up till now.
  • Hops and Marijuana are relatives. Both are in the same family of flowering plants.
  • The City of Amsterdam pays 10 Euros, tobacco and 5 cans of beer per day to alcoholics cleaning the streets.
  • In Poland and the Czech Republic you can get beer via a doctor´s prescription to treat urological complaints. (Maybe that´s why the Czechs consume that much beer)
